Be Thankful – A Freelancers Thanksgiving

Freelancing Jobs

No matter your line of work, it is extremely important to not get too comfortable in the swing of things. When you become too comfortable, you tend to take things for granted. Working from home is one of those jobs that too many of us do; forgetting to look back to the days when we had a dream.

Do you remember what it felt like to wake up every single morning and dread having to leave the house? Whether it was because you were facing a day with a terrible boss or because you weren’t enjoying your profession, we’ve all been there to some degree.

Do you remember when you first heard about working from home or met someone who did it and how jealous you were? I don’t know about you, but jealousy ran through my veins. I wanted freedom; I wanted the pleasure of being a part of that world. In all honesty, I didn’t feel I was good enough. I didn’t believe something so good could happen to me.

After doing this job for a while; I personally have been doing this since the summer, you begin to become too used to it and it’s only normal to have days where you hate it. I don’t care what type of job you’re working, no matter what you’re doing in life, there are going to be those days when the whole thing seems monotonous and mundane. But, pressing through it and not giving up is important.

Every once in a while, I feel completely exhausted and like I can’t handle another day of doing this type of work. I completely forget how lucky I am to have the discipline to have even come as far as I have. There are people who simply cannot force themselves to sit in front of their computers and write for hours at a time. Either they aren’t good at writing or they become distracted too easily.

Thanksgiving doesn’t have to be the only time you are thankful for what you have. Not only is it important to be thankful for the job you have; in a time when so many people are unemployed and struggling to make ends meet, but it is also important to be thankful for those around you as well. Remember all the people who told you working from home was a scam and that it would never work for you? Thank them too because, without them, you may not have had the motivation; and will prove them wrong. Those people fueled the fire for me just as much as those individuals who told me I could do anything I set my mind to.

No matter how bad things may seem, no matter the stress you are going through, it is always important to push yourself and keep working to better whatever it is you do. Be thankful you’ve found your niche and that you are lucky enough to get a chance to do what you love.
